Hair Transplant
Hair transplant is a surgical procedure used to treat hair loss or baldness. It involves removing hair follicles from one part of the body, typically the back or sides of the scalp (known as the donor area), and transplanting them into areas of the scalp with thinning or no hair (known as the recipient area).
There are two main techniques used in hair transplant procedures:

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT): Also known as strip harvesting, FUT involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area, usually from the back of the scalp, and dissecting it into individual follicular units under a microscope. These follicular units, which contain one to four hairs each, are then transplanted into the recipient area.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): FUE involves harvesting individual follicular units directly from the donor area using a small punch tool. The follicular units are then transplanted into the recipient area. FUE leaves tiny dot scars in the donor area, which are less noticeable than the linear scar left by FUT.
The choice between FUT and FUE depends on various factors, including the patient's hair loss pattern, the amount of donor hair available, and personal preference.
Hair transplant procedures are typically performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The surgeon creates recipient sites in the balding area and meticulously places the harvested follicular units into these sites, ensuring natural-looking results and proper graft survival.
After the procedure, patients may experience some temporary swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the donor and recipient areas. The transplanted hair usually sheds within a few weeks but then starts to regrow within a few months. It can take several months to a year for the full results of the hair transplant to become apparent.
Hair transplant surgery can be an effective and permanent solution for hair loss, providing natural-looking results that can significantly improve a person's appearance and self-confidence.
